Folks,
A poster outside the Eletronics Boutique store at the Scottsdale Fashion Square certainly caught my eye:
Pre-Order UT 2004 at the store:
$39.99 for the game
- $10 off manufacturer?s rebate (in the box)
- $20 off EB rebate (printed on the receipt when you buy the game)
- $9.99 off for trading in UT2003 and another PC game
=FREE!
The only thing is the clerk couldn?t confirm is if this applies to the CD-ROM version or the DVD version. His store listing showed that both will be offered for $39.99. He suggested that I pre-order both, which only costs $5 to reserve each, and then move the extra $5 over to which ever version I decide to go with when it?s released. Frankly, I wouldn?t be heart broken if the deal is only for the CD-ROM version, especially if it?s free. Funny thing is, the clerk told me that only 40% of their customers actually redeem their rebates, so I don?t think they?ll lose out big with this offer even if it is for the DVD version.
Be warned that not every EB store knows about this offer. For instance, another store 15 minutes away had no clue about it. The clerk-in-the-know suggested that any EB store should comply if you ask about it!
I hope this helps! So many times I've saved money buy reading these forums. It's about time I contribute something back.
