This is probably the most well written game in existance yet I hardly play it. $15 is a steal.

Is a 2005 version coming out soon?

I personally think UT2004 is a much better representation of UT99 than UT2003 could ever hope to be. They tweaked the gameplay so it's a lot better. When UT2003 came out, I bought it, installed it, played it for an hour, then fired UT99 back up. That was that.

Now, I don't think UT99 can really be captured in a game again, but UT2004 is really on the right track.

As far as the thing about there being a lack of servers and a lack of people playing on servers... it's a lie. There are tons of servers and tons of people, just the server browser kinda sucks.

ordered it with battlefield 1942. took the cheap way of shipping and it was 10 days getting here. they advertised anywhere from 2 to 9 so it was ahhhhhhh close.
took up 5 gigs of memory and comes with 5 cd's. fast action (like counter strike). l

I agree. UT99 is still what I play >90% of the time (mostly due to my friends having slower machines, and we want everyone to be able to play), but also just because it just seems to feel right, if that makes any sense. However, UT2004 is still a massive improvement from UT2003, and we've had a lot of fun games at LAN parties. At $15 it's definitely a steal, given all the content that comes with it - I believe it's over 100 maps, since it includes all the UT2003 stuff as well. :)

It's still available for $14.90 + shipping for those of you who hesitated. Got mine a few days ago & they include a full version of NFS3-Hot Pursuit. I haven't played that in awhile and forgot how blocky the graphics are.

I installed UT2K4 on 2 PC's - both of them choked on the install at disk 3. I was able to get it on one machine. Maybe a marginally bad disk. Anyone else have problems?
