With the system in my sig at 1024x768 with all the game and card settings at max (actually the NV control panel is set for application controlled) I was averaging over 100fps according to the ingame FPS counter. And that Assault game.... I liked it a lot.

I have to agree, this game is gonna own hard!

My boys are console junkies and they were just in awe while I was playing... :D That'll teach them (not...).

It looks good, but it's all been done. Ohh, run around shooting peeps at 100mph. It not even a step up from UT and UT2K3 was garbage. Guess I like a slower, more stregic FPS without techno music and lame taunts.

I've never played any of the Unreals so far, so this is my first try at the franchise. That said, I don't like it at all. Just a bunch of people jumping around in a room frantically. Wtf, how is that fun? Guess I'll stick with my run of the mill army type FPS games that the above poster yawns at.

There are more game types and maps than that enclosed room you talk about. Suit yourself.

I tried it out and yes it looks, sounds, and plays great but I sort of agree with Todd. I don't like the ultra-turbo-hyper-fast-paced movement. To me it kind of takes away strategy and skill. Spawn, attack, kill, die, respawn, attack, kill, die, repeat. I dunno, maybe boost the respawn time up to 30 seconds or something so there's an actual penalty to dying.

I think you and Todd may have missed the entire point of the deathmatch game style. Twitch reflexes and quick aim are the keys to victory. And there are strategic game varieties in UT. Take a look at CTF and Bombing Run. And now the Assault game. In these games you get to use strategy AND the other standard deathmatch skills. It's a win-win situation. :)

I don't even type the 1, to get FPS I type:

~
stat fps - press enter key
~

And FPS is there. :) Regarding the benchmark, in the folder structure of the UT2004 Demo there is a Benchmark folder. But I searched throughout the entire install and I couldn't find a separate executable for benchmarking like you can find in UT2003. Perhaps it'll be added later.

This game is awesome; I played for two hours last night and haven't had this much fun in a while. Onslaught is the best and Assault rocks.

How is this running on everyone's computers?

I have a p4 2.4c
1gb PC3200 RAM
AIW 9600 Pro

How do you think it will run on here. I never really played any UT games before.

Hmmm... I seem to be big time in the minority here. I'm going to have to check it out again later.

Thanks for the suggestions on game types. :)

I love it. It's more like the original now (they brought back the sniper rifle :D ) Plus Onslaught is awesome, a mix of halo and UT. I didnt buy 2k3 but i'll probably get this.
