Unreal D3D problems

I bought unreal gold yesterday and i've been having D3D problems. Sometimes i'll just get thrown out of the game or i'll get an error that throws me out of the game. Deus Ex had the same problem only when I used the D3d beta patch. If I played deus ex without the D3d beta patch it worked great.

Unreal gold came with the 226 patch which is the newest unreal patch. My vid card is a GF2 and i've tried a few different driver sets and none helped.

Also in my unreal UI there is no advanced selection under options. Why the hell isnt it there? Thanks

Are you overclocking? I see you've got a "tech" icon so I don't mean to insult you with that question but Unreal has always been very unforgiving if a system isn't very stable and running a 3dfx card in Glide. I haven't played Unreal in a while but I do remember having problems with it while other games and programs ran fine on my overclocked machine. That's probably why Unreal used to be used as a tester for stability. 🙂

Good luck - It's still a great game!

I don't have Unreal, but I am playing UT. I suppose with the same engine, i hope this might help. I have a GeForceMX video (Nvidia 6.47 beta), when I tweaked my system to enable AGP4x and/or Fastwrite UT would not run properly and constantly would crash. So disabling those features, UT runs smoothly. With Nvidia 6.18 drivers UT is OK, with nvidia 6.34 and UT 4.32 locks up for a few seconds but after that will keep going. Now with Directx 8.0, Nvidia 6.47 beta and UT 4.36, things are running smoothly, no lockups. I hope this helps.

Robor: It shouldent be caused by my ocing because Deus Ex had the same problem ONLY when I used the newest D3d patch.
