Unreal 3 (engine)

I'm surprised none of you have mentioned/know this yet, the Unreal 3 engine is currently being run on Xbox 2 hardware. Read it and weep folks. 😎
 
Awesome detail. Have to wait and see what the actual ingame implementation is though. They need to make an RPG a la KotOR with this engine. I wonder if that would be possible.

Well of course it would be possible, with time. I can't wait to see what next-gen is going to be pumping out.

very possible, Lineage2 uses the unreal engine
 
The Unreal engine has always been very good looking. Too bad Unreal sucked, Unreal II sucked, I have high hope for Unreal 3 😉.

That is Unreal 3 in fact, from what ive read from the Epic is that they wouldnt bother making those monsters and everything else if it wasnt for a game...

Unreal 2 wasnt made by Epic, it was made by Legend Entertainment, never heard of 'em before they made Unreal 2. So u really cant blame Epic for that crap, and Epic was working hard on UT2003 when Unreal 2 was being made, and UT2003 is amazing, so they know their stuff...

It will run on the the next gen consoles like Xbox 2, but if u read http://www.unrealtechnology.com ull also read that they will be scaling the graphics down by 4x i think, so it wont look anywhere as good as that, if they need to do that...

Yup from what theyve said, they are in talks with them about using it, but i think it will take some time, as its a new engine, and so they are gonna have to redo the WHOLE game with that engine...
 
My monitor is is lying there, its muscles quickly flexing and releasing as it awaits displaying this orgasm known as the U3-engine. My video card, however, is vomiting in a box somewhere.
 
too bad the quality of the pic isnt all that great. when we had those doom3 preview images from a german magazine, i showed them to my roomate and he was unimpressed saying farcry looks better. when d3 actually came out i let him gaze at some high rez shots and now hes saying wowzers i need that game 🙂
dont get me wrong, i think the IQ is insanely superb; maybe it needs somewhat trained eyes to tell what greatness lies therein 😱
 
The Hi-Res Gman video from Half Life 2 is at least as impressive as that. Granted, the shots look better than Doom 3, but that is to be expected.
