I recently went from a 56K dial up to a T1.

Of course, I have been gaming like a madman online since.

I love UT2003, and have managed to actually get one first place, a few thirds, but usually end up sixth or seventh out of about 10-12 players.

My question is I have seen some definate cheats going on. Ok, if they're not cheats then they're hidden settings that I am too dumb to figure out on my own.

I noticed that many experienced players can jump much higher than normal, even without adrenaline.
This is an extreme disadvantage in a one on one firefight with the high jumping opponent who can jump over your head at will, back and forth.

Anyone know how this is done?

Are you asking for cheats to an online game? I doubt you'll find much love here.

My suggestion would be to find a good, actively monitored server and play there, or find a group of like-minded players (or a clan) and play with them. I haven't played on a temporary/non-dedicated pub since 1999 and every cheater I have seen since lasted fewer than 60 seconds because the admin was always there to ban them.

I would love nothing better than to play without cheats on a level playing field. It is more fun to lose a close battle then to win everytime, especially with cheats.

Unfortunately I guess things have changed since 1999, because cheating abounds and admins do absolutely nothing about it.

I have four gaming machines lanned together at my house, but we rarely get four people on at once.

Also, Unreal 2004 is better, Onslaught is sweet.

I have tried Unreal 2004 online, but every server I have found lags, even on my fastest machine.
Not sure what's going on there....
My connection is a T1 with excellent bandwidth.

It is only $43 per month. $110 installation to run a CAT5 from the junction box to a stand alone phone jack.

Spec the best players.....I think you'll find that those you think are cheating are probably just very good. When you're hopped up on adrenaline speed and double dodging and jumping, you can get owned. But people *do* cheat.....I saw some kind of one shot hack where people were winning games to 25 in just a couple of minutes. Their shots were always lethal. Specs reveal this easily.

Yes, that helps, but it still doesn't account for what some of these people can do, thanks for the suggestion though.

I think I will be hard headed as usual. I will keep playing until I can build up my skill level enough to compete with the cheaters. I can see many deaths in my future on a long road.:D
