those who say they're not impressed by Unreal 2. what games currently blow Unreal 2 out of the water?

Halo.

Unreal has goofy boobies and goofy voice acting.

Halo dosen't.

I am not an xbox fanboy or anything but Halo is amazing and set the standard for all other fps games that followed.

Unreal dosen't reach that high of a level.

So far I might go to say that Half Life was better as well.

I publicly laugh at anyone who thinks Halo is the standard for FPS games. The FPS genre is a competition genre, the only standard is the one with all the competitions. Not the one with the best graphics or neatest jeep.

If you think Unreal2's graphics arn't good, you havn't seen very much of it. And I am sure most here havn't played Unreal 2 to even be able to judge it against another game.

True, but Halos controls were very easy to grasp, so much so that the argument of keyboard and mouse is kinna moot to me. I don't know why people are bitching already though(for the sake of being anal?), it's a different game entirely and that player model looks fine.

Unreal II lives up to its predecessors and goes far beyond. The graphics are really nice and the storyline is actually interesting. The sniper gun and "grace" (.50 calibur pistol) are a blast to use. Also the secondary fire of the shotgun sets the victim on fire which looks amazing and is pretty funny to watch. The only annoying aspect of the game so far is that you can't skip the cutscenes so make sure to save after every major sequence. Overall I have enjoyed this game a lot.

you can't possibly be as accurate with your thumbs as with your finger tips. heck, the way you're supposed to hold those mini-joysticks is between your thumb and forefinger. but they never design the controllers so thats possible. if not for that giant bulge of the left trigger on the xbox you could set the left stick for aiming and the right one for scooting around and hold the left stick the right way.

Get ready for 800x600 at 20 fps no FSAA or Aniso
I have a radeon 8500, get VERY smooth frame rates (choppy in heavy fight scenes) at 800 x 600 with full aniso, no FSAA. unoverclocked - at 1024 x 768, it starts getting pretty slow.

If you have the game already, you must have aquired it some way other than buying it.
Right?

its sluggish at 1024x768 on an athlon 1840 with 512 megs of ram and a 64 meg gf3 200/500... maybe it uses more textures than that..
