Unplugged my CPU fan by accident

I reconnected everything after doing a full blown cable management revamp and then I didn't like how my fan controller wasn't screwed in well. Pulled it out and rescrewed the rails in which required unplugging the cpu fan from it. Whoops. I turned my comp on and played 10 min of Hitman and then the system shut down. No, I didn't have any bugs or any errors, but rather my shutdown temperature kicked in.

I set it at 60C in BIOS but CoreTemp which is more accurate in checking temps usually reports 3 - 4 C above. I've never even broken 55 on this CPU except for stress testing on a hot day. Usually I load around 44 in Mobo Monitor, but CoreTemp can report up to 50.

Hope I didn't damage anything ><

Edit: Rig is an Opteron 170 running at 2.6 GHz

<3 Hitman!!!
Your computer will be fine if it didn't go over 70C I believe. Well 70C is REALLY pushing it and the stated limit is just shy over 60C.

It will be fine, stop worrying. I recently made the same mistake when rewiring and left my VF900 unplugged, resulting in my X1800XT exploding after 20min of 2D web browsing.
