I think Rage looks better in many ways but it does have some horribly low textures in spots. its not a game that will stand up to close scrutiny of the graphics and even Carmack knows this. hopefully he will make that high res texture pack he was contemplating.

Thats something we will have to get used to. PC only franchises are no longer profitable except in rare cases, and the exceptions are generally blizzard/valve games, budgetware, or MMO's.

Most games will be multi platform and that being the case, the PC versions will suffer as a result.

That being said, I still think Rage looks far better than any other title in recent memory.

Excuse me if I sound ignorant, but:

GTX560ti is ~$220

ATI 6850 is ~ $120

Both are 256bit, GDDR5 1GB...

Can I get away without spending nearly double the price???

Remember higher end cards generally cost more for your buck.

If you want a better card in the under 150$ range, I'd spend 10$ more and grab a gtx460 Hawk over a 6850.

6850 is certainly the much better value if its just 120 bucks. what are the rest of your specs and what res do you want to play at though?

6850 for 120 bucks would be a great deal and match up really well with your system. if you want the new Batman game or maybe even sell it then the gtx560 Ti is not that bad of a deal and is noticeably faster.

I played BF3 a little with a 460 GTX (1Gb) @ 800Mhz (1600Mhz) and its fine. High detail settings and 1080p is totally doable at >45fps. Looks great too. I bet if you get anything that says 460 gtx or 6850 and higher you should be good to go.
