New GOP stood for spending 1T for infrastructure? Wanna make bets that will ever happen?
If it means giving out trillions in tax credits and corporations get to own public infrastructure, I'm sure they'll go along for the ride. It's their favorite type of capitalism - socialized costs, privatized profits.

Driven by aspirations not fears.

Spends large portion of speech talking about how no one is working, no one is safe, and we have to fight the terrorists.

The country is a crime ridden post-apocalyptic hellscape of unemployed octogenarians, children not being religious home schooled, and clean air/water.

Only he can save you!

Fox will play this up as the greatest Presidential speech ever.

People forget how low the bar had gotten

He did a professional job. It wasn't Bill Clinton or Obama but it was better speaking than I've seen.

The speech still had many of his standard misleading "facts" but it was at least professional.

He has a very professional speech writer and he's doing a good job speaking.

Actually -- no. He's done some preparation; somebody else wrote the speech; and when he uses the teleprompter, he betrays a reading skill that would have been challenged before he got to grad school at Wharton. I can say more about that, based on things he's said recently, that might support the conclusion.

I could try and explain it further, but I'll leave off with affirming that it's clear as day to me. Add the other stories that he's never been a voracious reader, gets all his information from TV or verbal communication, and expects other people to "master the details" while he -- on his Supreme Throne -- can make good decisions by knowing little of it.

Even MacArthur shares something in personality-profile with Trump, but not to a completely disordered extreme. And he could write 1,000 pages of battle plans in a matter of little more than a week. And MacArthur had rhetorical skills -- language skills.

The So-Called President communicates in Tweets.

Trump and his writers watched a few Reagan speeches. Trump had the timing down where he could spout two completely contradictory thoughts in the same sentence and it flowed.

Would you accept "a good job.... for him "?

This fart knocker is doing a pretty good and folksy rebuttal to the Prezs
speech.

Meh sending Uncle Jesse out for the rebuttal is pretty lame. Where's his lemonade? Is his pick-up truck out front or is Cooter working on it?
Sending some old guy out at the end of his career is really lame.

Disagree, he was a shot at your average middle America conservative. Ones who would turn off a standard east coast liberal will have a harder time not listening to a non-threatening white man preachers son.
