Have any of you tried to use the MIC IN as a LINE IN with on-board audio? I've got some cassette tapes I want to digitize and am not sure if I need to install a sound card with a dedicated line in.

I'll try it soon, but I wanted to first see if anyone had any experience with this?

my FRN2-L was fantastic also.

Anyone having an issue with the HTT multi? No matter what bios version I use, the HTT multi value is not working. As in, no matter what value I set it to, Clockgen value reports that it is set at default (4x).
this is happening with bios version 1.0/1.1/1.2

Sorry, I haven't tried ot overclock my board yet. I've not changed HTT from 4. But now that you mention BIOS versions, anyone know when a new BIOS update is likely to be released? I'd like to have my system report that I have NF3-250Gb rather than NF3-250... :)

Wow. I just replaced my old XP nForce2 Shuttle mobo with this one and it's a world of difference. Very impressed so far. Why the ST HWmonitor detects my cpu temp at 8 is a bit strange, but that's the only bump so far. (posted system a few posts above)

Hey, good news. So I was getting 50 degrees in soltek hardware monitor and 41 in mbm5. Well... I overclocked my 3400+ to 2.53ghz. I checked my temp... 47 degrees in soltek hardware monitor and 39 degrees in mbm5. AWESOME. I'm pretty sure it's because I changed the Cpu vcore in the bios from default to 1.550v. I remember some program I ran saying that was a problem a while back. I don't know, but this might help some people with temp problems.

My reported temps also increase when my volt core decrease. When I activate Cool'n'Quiet, it drops my volt core from 1.5 -> 1.09 when my computer is under low stress, thus raising my temps. Though, that's totally weird though, cuz a lower volt core should theoritically decrease temps. but I dunno, I don't trust the temp readings

man...wth. Maybe there's something wrong with the Soltek. Increase Volt should increase the temp...but it's oposite this time. Guess what, the Alcu 7000B only drop me 2 degree....maybe the Soltek sensor is wrong.

Hey Fuzn, did you have any trouble getting the corsair value select memory to work in this mobo? Mine wouldn't take it for some reason, but runs fine on Kingston HyperX DDR333.

I have 512mb of OCZ platinum rev ram and have it running on 2T 2-3-2-5 timings, just wondering how i can get it to 1t and would would the timings have to be set? if someone is running the same set up, hook me up with the fastest settings. Would I have to raise the voltage and the timings to get it running at 1t? would it be worth it? like performance wise would there be much difference?

reply Megatomic

you can find the item below in the BIOS. If not, that means your CPU doesn't support this function.
Advanced Chipset Features --> DRAM Configuration --> Dram Command Rate -> [2T] or [1T]

Thanks for the reply kitty. I guess my CPU doesn't support IT though I don't know how or why it wouldn't. :(

Not at all, I just put them in and it's been working perfectly ever since. That's odd.

So, mgsvr, you have 1T option available to you? I have a 3400+ Clawhammer on the same board as you but I don't have 1T anywhere. :| What am I missing?

AFAIK the Clawhammers can only run at 1T so you would not have the option to select CPC in the BIOS. Newcastles can run 1T or 2T therefore the CPC option is available in the BIOS if a Newcastle is detected.

Megatomic...I'm just asking cuz I don't even check out what's in the BIOS said. Hey guys, what temp are you guy getting on Soltek HM, and MB5? My Soltek showed me as 44c, MB5 showed me as 26c... =(

SoltekHM reports 44/45C on average and when I use Everest 1.51 to check temps I get something like 38 or 39C. I believe the Soltek readbacks, with stock cooling in my 74F room 38C is just too low to be practical.

wait...how do you get Everest to showed up your CPU? My Everest show me like this in the sensor:

mobo: 27c
Aux: 36c (according to Everest FAQ, Aux can mean anything)
Samsung HDD: 16c

So which one did you look to get the CPU's temp, Megatonic?

ps: btw, Soltek Hm showed me as 44c/45c as well. What's about everyone else?

Hey gang!

I've been thoroughly enjoying my K8AN2E-GR and the speed is truly massive. I'm anxious to start overclocking though I have little experience in doing so. I do have one problem I'm trying to overcome at the moment before proceeding with the OC...maybe you can help me.

I'm experiencing screen-freezes during gameplay. Everything will be running great then it'll just freeze for a few seconds (sound may skip a little then stop altogether). When it comes back everything looks and plays fine (fast and smooth). I've tried to run settings for best performance and still get the same results. All my drivers are up-to-date (even installed the nVidia beta driver for my vid card). I recently flashed my BIOS to the latest version but the problem persists. The wierd thing is...All the games I've played does it EXCEPT for Doom3 which I run on High settings (second to best I think). The games I do experience problems in are: FarCry, Rome: Total War, Dark Age of Camelot, and Counter Strike (HL2 engine). In all these games I get the same screen-freezes. I've also noticed that sometimes they are much more frequent than other times, though I don't know what would be the cause of that.

Things I've Tried:
Disabling all programs in Start-Up via msconfig
Computer is completely clean (spybot, Ad-Aware, AVG-antivirus)
BIOS Flash
Various Drivers for Video, chipset, soundcard (currently have latest installed)
Onboard Sound is disabled
RAID controllers disabled (don't have any)

That's all I can think of right now.

Please let me know if anybody has some ideas...THANKS!

I have the same mobo and video card... and I also had freezes. Well, the GT model, but close enough.I don't know if you tried this, but disabling fast writes in the bios fixed it 100% and that was it.
