Processor stock speed: 2.4ghz
sSpec code: SL6WF
Production date: Week 19/2003, Pack Date 6/9/2003

STABLE* overclocked speed: 3000/250/200
STABLE* overclocked core voltage: default 1.525
Cooling solution: Vantec Aeroflow
Motherboard: Abit IS7, Bios version 13

Using Crucial PC3200 memory (2x256mb). Haven't seen how high I can get it, I'll try some other time.

Processor stock speed: 2400mhz

STABLE* overclocked speed: 3000/250/200mhz dual channel (2 x 512 OCZ perforamnce series pc 3200 2/3/2/5)
STABLE* overclocked core voltage: default Vcore 1.55
Cooling solution: stock...(AS3)
Motherboard: ABIT IS7 bios 13
GAT settings: street racer - enhanced/ auto/ disable/disabled

For those of you with ABIT IS7/IS7E and 2.4C
could you post OC'd stats including memory type, cpu voltage, memory voltage, memory settings, and GAT settings?
i'm having trouble getting past the 250 mhz fsb (5:4) mark and i've tried quite a few combinations. That GAT settings make isolating the problem so much more difficult because they add an extra 4 confounding variables that i have to work with.

I was stuck at 250 also and the only way to get past it was to turn off GAT. Here is my setup

2.4c at 260fsb 5:4 divder
2x256 Kingston HyperX pc3500 2-5-3-2
GAT - Auto, Normal, Auto, Disabled, Disabled
CPU Default voltage, vDimm 2.6

Wierd thing is that even if I relax my memory timings, use a 3:2 divder or up my voltages I still can't get past 260mhz stable. I find that odd because I'm running stock voltages and tight memory timings. You'd think relaxing the timings and uping the voltage would at least get me a few more mhz FSB, but nope.

When running Prime95, are all of you running TWO instances of Prime95? If not, you are not stressing your system enough. To run the second instance of Prime95, go to Command Prompt, navigate to your Prime95 directory (cd \ then cd c:\program files\prime95 and then prime95.exe -a1). When I was running only one instance of Prime95, all was fine, but with the second one running, it failed immediately. You might want to reevaluate your "stable Prime95" claim :)

or just create a shortcut with
"C:\Program Files\Prime95\PRIME95.EXE" -a1

or the like as the target

I always run Prime95 x2. I simply copied my prime95 folder and called it "prime95 instance2". Double-click on one then the other to get 2 prime95 sessions going at once :). My results are stable per 2x prime95

I only run 260FSB regularly, it's mmost stable.

I'm up to 271MHz since I installed the Zalman 7000CU and upgraded to a Coolermaster ATC-201C. My temps dropped also to 28-30C idle and 43-44C stress.

i have the 3.0C...on the P4P800 Deluxe i can get it up to 217 at 1:1 and 245 at 5:4...on the P4C800-E Deluxe I can only hit 225 at 5:4...although I'm still playing with it and the mobo is not the only variable...i also swapped my psu...but at the same clock speeds the p4c800-e always beats the p4p800

What kind of speeds have people been able to get with a P4C 3.2Ghz CPU? Also, does anyone have a P4C 3.2Ghz not made in Costa Rica? Thanks.

Things to note:
I'm running it 1:1 since I'm not having any luck with the 5:4 ratio on this board. I upped the RAM voltage to 2.7 (from 2.6). I'm using 1x512mb stick of Corsair PC3500 XMS which overclocks nicely from DDR433 to DDR467. Timings of 2-3-3-6. I haven't tried any tighter.

Idle temps right now for system/CPU/PWM is 32.0/39.0/33.0
Load temps are 34.0/50.5/40.5.

I'm most likely going to try to clean/reseat the HSF.

I just finished running 2 instances of Prime95 with this setup (about 4-5 hours w/o error)

Ok, now off to try my luck at 5:4 again....

yep, same crappy results as last time.. best I can do stable is 243 FSB * 12 = 2906.6 Mhz

sandra scores with that are:
CPU 8942-2521/5578
RAM 2861/2867

Putting it back to 1:1 and 234.5*12=2813.6 Mhz sandra scores are
CPU 8707-2429/5376
RAM 3454/3457

A big boost in ram, but a little bit less in CPU. I think I'm going to keep it at 2.8 with 1:1.

When you run the 5:4 are you manually disabling the GAT? Are you setting your DRAM to SPD or configuring it manually?

2.8 ghz @ 3.36 ghz
240 FSB with 5:4 ratio
Corsair XMS 2x512MB 3200LL @ 2-2-3-6-8
Ran through a pass of memtest86 fine... I need to do the Prime95 test though.
Stock cooling, P4P800-D

Nope, GAT settings are on auto, all of em.

Also configuring ram manually.

It looks like it is you 2.4C that is holding you back from what you are saying and not your ram. It took 1.675vcore in the bios to get my 2.4C stable at 3.2Ghz with GAT setting to auto. I am running 2X256 Kingston HyperX PC3500 which runs about the same as your Corsair 3500. My full load temps only went up 2C when I went from default vcore to 1.675 using the Zalman 7000cu.

Since you are not running dual channel, make sure that you are using the single channel slot.

well, after setting the game accelerator to Turbo, and disabling everything underneath it, I'm able to OC much better.

I got the FSB to 275 at Vcore 1.7, DDR at 2.7. = 3300.4 Mhz

Thought it was going to be stable, but after 10 minutes of two Prime95's running I got an error in one of them. Also, temps are outrageous at this setting.
With an open case and a house fan blowing into the system the temps were:
System 36C
CPU 61C
PWM 59C

Time to try out 3.24 again.

BTW, my sandra scores were:

CPU 10180-2850/6287
RAM 3253/3256

Sounds very familiar. Had to settle for 271fsb on mine. My temps are running 53-55C load with the 1.675vcore but without the house fan into the system. ;) The IS7 does read temps higher than my other two P4C systems and it is known that the IS7 does read high.

Dual Channel memory really makes a difference in memory bandwidth. Most including me are getting 5700+ Sandra Mem bench. Not that Sandra means squat. IMHO. :)

What type of cooling do you have on your IS7 and what is your idle temp? I have my 2.4c @3.12 and get 41 idle and it jumps way up to 63 under load.

Thanks, I have stock Intel HSF and am thinking of upgrading to a SLK900. I"ve never heard of the Zalman since I'm rather new to all this. Is it better and/or cheaper? The SLK is pretty pricey.

Also thinking about a smartfan II

Thanks!!

I am running the SLK900U with a Panflo 57cfm 92mm fan on my 2.6C rig. Great heatsink and the 92mm fan is quieter than a 80mm 50cfm fan. The Zalman 7000cu comes with a 92mm fan built into it so the price of the two would be close to the same. I was getting in the 60-62C with the stock heatsink on my 2.4C also before getting the Zalman.

looks like I found my max stable.

270 FSB at 1.65V set in bios, reading 1.61-1.65 = 3243.1Mhz
Load (SETI, 2 WUs) temps of:
35C system
56C CPU
46C PWM
