Purpose: Using the electrically conductive Loctite Rear Window Defogger Kit to unlock (connect all the L1 Bridges) so that one can overclock an AMD Duron/Thunderbird CPU. If your L1 bridges are already connected, you will not need to perform these procedures outlined here.

This is how I do it.
Buy some Loctite Rear Window Defogger kit from Pep Boy/Autozone for $8.
Plan A:
0) This stuff is toxic, so clean your contact lenses and put on your glasses b4 you touch this stuff.
1) If the eraser of your mechanical pencil have a thin pin attached to the eraser, you can use that as an applicator.
2) If not, stick a sewing pin to the eraser of a pencil. Angled the pin out. The more angled the pin, the easier it will be for you to apply the paint to the CPU. Stick the pin in far enough so the pin don't wobble and you have enough control of the pin. Stick your pin in at a angle
3) Stick a clean, NON-WOODEN chopstick inside the Loctite bottle and stir it up real good. Then close the bottle and shake it up real good as well.
4) Use a glass magnifier & strong light to guide you as you close each individual L1 bridges separately.
5) With your angled sewing pin, scrape some paint from the neck of your bottle.
6) Most important point: Don't write(scratch) on your L1 bridges. Rather, APPLY the paint by laying the pin flat against your cpu(this is where that angle pin come into play.) Just rest your whole pin flat against the CPU. This will mark it exactly when you use a magnifier to guide your self.
7) Close & shake the bottle each time you go back for some more paint as this stuff dry up quick!
8) Repeat, connecting the rest of the individual L1 bridges.
9) Now, inspect your CPU to see if you have accidently interconnect any L1 bridges. Put the 6x bifocal insert in your magnifier right up in your eye and inspect your CPU(Just like you see a jeweler inspect a diamond in the movies). This give a pretty clear picture of whether you have interconnect any bridges or not.
10) If you mess up, you can separate the connection by using a different sewing pin to severe the connection. You are going to scrath and leave some mark on your CPU this way, but you don't have to start the whole process over again.
11) People have reported having success using acetone(nail polish remover) to clean up the paint & start over again. This is what Loctite suggest to use to clean the applicator so that it can be use over again the next time.
12) Wait 24 hours before you turn your computer on.
Other variations:
Plan AAA:
1) Follow the instruction of plan A, use an Exacto knife(the kind doctor use). The knife is perfect, b/c it's already at an angle.
Plan B:
1) Put some Loctite paint on reynold foil.
2) Use a sharp razor(w/ the paint on it, apply(lay it flat, rest in on,not scrape) it on the CPU.
2.5) You could also use a boxcutter to apply this.
3) Wait 24 hours.
Plan C:
1) Get some index card, and cut it into smaller pieces.
2) With somebody helping you, lay the card to the two side of your bridge. Apply with a fine paint brushes. Be sure not to touch the other L# bridges.
3) Lift the card away from the CPU quickly b/c you don't want the paint to dry and get stuck on the card instead of your CPU
Plan D:
1) Use a stencil set to apply the paint.
2) If you can find a stencil set small enough, this work like plan C.
3) You can make your own stencil set by using a fine razor and carve yourself a fine stencil line on an index card. Make one for each connection.
Plan E:
Heck, use the index card to apply paint. Cut an index card into thin strip and use it as an applicator.
Plan F:
There is some guy here that has worked for Motorola for 20 yrs, and will unlock your CPU for $13 shipping included. He has a pretty good FS/FT rating. Let him do it and save your eyesight.
Plan G:
Or use the classic mechanical lead pencil trick.
I like plan A & B the best, whatever work for you.
This product(Loctite) contains a chemical which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
After you are done, be nice and pass the Loctite to your fellow Anandtecher. This stuff is expensive. It only cost $1 bookrate to send this to somebody else.
Feel free to post your comment on my procedures. I will not be offended if your comment are unfavorable. If you want to refine any procedural point, just let me know.

For those who have participated in the Taisol HSF group buy(100). Match the groove on your HSF to the groove on your motherboard so that you don't damage your CPU.

Also, I use a tweezer to carefully remove my warranty sticker from my CPU and stick it inside my case's wall. In case my CPU overheat, I don't burn my warranty w/ it as well.
