unless i am mistaken mutliplier has worked since 1.3 final, so 1004.001 didnt fix that, let us know if you can break the 220 wall and at what mutliplier.

im still at 230. i was able to break the 220 wall since the original install.

My machines crashes at 213 with doom3 ! what kind of cooling / mem do you use ? Do you use CnQ (I don't) ? what's the revision of your mobo ?

Guys, new BIOS v1004 has been posted.

Major feature is that HTT multiplier can be changed. Lower it to 3x and watch your overclock fly! Someone on the pcper.com forum has gotten their 3000+ to 2400mhz, or something like that. 260mhz HTT, 218mhz Ram (with 333's divider), etc.

currently at 244 * 10 on my dtr 3200+, at 1.616 volts, may up to 1.65 for a little while see if i can break 250. After which I will try for 8 * 300, then 9 * 275 (if my memory can take it at 2.7 volts), would love to run the ocz at ddr550, and at 2.85 volts i have hit 580 so might work at 2.7. Overall I am quite happy with this bios and if they give us more voltage on ram (go to 2.8 or 2.9) i will say this is hands down the best a64 board, at least until the dfi comes out.

Does it *actually* perform better than a normal config with 4x htt and a light o/c ?

- XL-type mem like the corsair twinx 3200 XL ?
- high frequency but worse timings like PC4000 / 4400

best i have gotten was ddr 580 (on the msi before i sent it back for other problems, that was at 2.85 volts which is stock for my memory) at 2.7 i cant get past 460, so if i do 8 * 300 it will be at 2/3, so at the moment my best bet would be 9 * 270 at 5/6. Just sent an email to asus complaining and asking for an option for higher vdim, hopefully we will see it in 1.5

After reading numerous tests, I ordered 2*512 Crucial ballistix 2225, they seem better in the tests for A64, and are cheaper that the corsair XL (EB is damn too expensive even if better, and it performs better at high voltages it seems)

8*300 probably wont perform all that much better then 11 * 225 (if at all) but my multiplier is only 10. Hypertransport speed doesnt seem to affect performance that much and since you will probably have to drop it from going 225 (with either 800 or 600 as start) to 300 (400 probably) clockspeed will probably have more of an effect

clcokspeed does, memory does to point. but a64's tend to be affected more by latency then by clockspeed in terms of memory, so 440 at 2-2-2 or 2.5-2-2 (for eb memory) will probably end up being faster then 500 at 2.5-2-2 which is faster then 550 at 3-3-3)

Damn just read controversial users tests of ballistix, wonder if I made a good choice ... don't wanna pay 60 euro more for OCZ EB, which is also hard to find here !!

Glad to see y'all are having fun oc'ing with the new bios. now, are you guys using the stock heatsink and stock TIM material (which coincidentally I hear is "Shin Etsu" and is superior to AS5) or did you buy a Thermalright or something.

Also, how about some benchmarks comparing stock to your various combinations of OC'ing. Try to include 1 synthetic and 1 real world bench - like 3Dmark2001 and D3.

might post some benchmarks later, probably will stick with 10 * 240 or 9 * 270 (especialy if I can get some more voltage to the memory) thinking about buying ocz's ddr volatge booster, though i have no clue if it would work with this board. I am defintiely not running stock cooling, probably running best air cooling possible at the moment (6 case fans, 1 delta on side panel, one on processor), plus a dtr chip so it runs relaively cool anyway.

In sandra I got about 10% perf increase in CPU and multimedia test, nothing on mem, over my previous setting (210*11 1:1, HTT*4). CPU temp is 46 idle on hot weather, 50 after 3dmark. Im using stock AMD cooling.

I need better mem though.
