How does one Unlock the CPU multiplier on an 1GHZ AMD Athlon Thunderbird?

I am trying to run one on a FSB of 266MHZ via the Abit KT7A-RAID Mobo. Is there anything else involved in doing this other than unlocking the CPU multiplier.

Use a HB #2 mechanical pencil or a Loctite rear window defogger pen to join the L1 bridges. :)

After setting the miultiplier at 7.5 and the mobo jumper to 133 (most mobos have a jumper to select a base of 100 or 133). If you have good RAM you can up the FSB higher, maybe as high as 150. You will need to experiment with multiplier and FSB to get the best combo.

Everything they said, and also remember to use a sharp HB Mecanical pencil because those bridges are small and will need alot of accuracy becasue if you accidentally miss conect the Level 11 Bridges next to the ones which you should be joining then it will either fry the CPU or it will not boot! SO BECAREFUL!

Good Luck,

Albert.
