Unlocking new AMD XP Chip same as unlocking TBird/Duron

Hello all,

I just wanted to confirm that to unlock the new AMD XP chip, we need to connect the L1 bridges like we did for the TBirds and the Durons.

Is this true? Thanks.

yeah...but now there are pits where they have been cut. check overclockers.com for some great pictures on what it is. you cant just do the defogger/pencil trick. you have to fill in those pits with crazy ass glue or something.

What has everyone else used to unlock the multiplier on the new XP chips?

Toms hardware has a guide on how to do it, here.

I don't think i'll be touching it soon because i saw the size of those bridges when i put the CPU in and they are TINY..

Thanks. I may actually buy an older Thunderbird just so I can OC it without having to jump through the XP hoops.
