So there is a way to unlock the all conroes 2 with the intel Mobo. The way to do it is you have to have the intel board and you have to solder this 2 thing . http://i4.tinypic.com/2448a3o.jpg

Edit: Original Thread stated Conroes were all lock multipliers except for the x6800

Oh... well changing topic there is a way to unlock it with the Intel mobo by soldering

They are locked upwards excepting the X6800, yes.

They are downwards unlocked though.

There was a stupid rumor goin around, & as usual, it was just that.

Intel CPUs do not have their multipliers locked by the motherboard. They are locked in the CPU.

You cannot mod a mobo in any way to unlock higher multipliers on a 6300, 6400, 6600 or 6700, and if you have a mobo that requires a hardware mod to enable LOWER multipliers, then you have a really crappy mobo.

Your source is wrong, and therefore, you are wrong.

It's nothing personal. But you're wrong. So stop pretending you're right just because someone else says it is true.

You cannot unlock higher multipliers on a Conroe CPU by modding the motherboard. PERIOD.
