Unlocking athlon64

I am aware that athlon 64's multipliers are locker except for fx's.... But is it possible or would it be possible to somehow unlock it by shorting some pins or something in that field ?

Not that i know of, and if it was possible, you'd have to remove the heatspreader. This would mean that only a few HSF's would fit, because they are all designed for the extra bit of height that the heatspreader adds.

I don't believe it's possible to unlock one upwards (I think their method is irreversible). They're unlocked downward, though.
