I got a free pc from work, but its got admin locks on windows that wont let me do anythnig. Whats the easiest way to wipe it clean so i can install a fresh OS.

That's Probably Overkill. If it is running winXP, load up the system in safe mode, and log-in using the username:"administrator" and no password. 95% of the time, this will give you full admin privlages(sp?), then you can just set your account as an admin. Problem solved.

Accept ERD Commander doesn't work a lot of the time when the box is part of a network... Frankly, if you just need the box and have no use for any of the junk on it currently, a reformat with a fresh install would be my recommendation. It would take more time, but you would be starting fresh with the computer in a know state.

our you could use that linux username/password editor. burn it to cd and boot off the cd. it will allow you to clear any password for any username or create new user with admin rights
