Well I have had a partly sucessful unlock of my XP1900. I have 6, 6.5, 11, 11.5, 12, 12.5, 13- havent tested 14 and 15 and dont know if they will work in any event. I dont have 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5 but dont see myself ever using most of those anyway.

I am somewhat tempted to try again but I dont see the need to use 7, 8 and 9 at all anyway. The only one I may have use for is 10 and 10.5. The ones I really needed like 11, 11.5, 12.5 and 13 are unlocked and working on my 8kha+ so I think I will leave well enough alone and just be happy that it worked for the most part.

Did it on the first try using silver grease and thermal paste. What a Pain in the Arse! They sure did a good job of making it into a hassle. Shame on you amd :)

hehe yah its funny how some multis are working and some not...I have a similar problem but not as extreme. I have my multis working except for 10 and 10.5, the ones I really want :(

I wanna run 166FSB, but at 11 and 11.5, its too high for XP 1800+ to handle (almost 1800mhz). 10.5 would be perfect. May have to bust out the rear-window defogger kit and try again this weekend....it is a pain though, especially with an 8045 :)

Its neat running 200FSB at like 7 and 7.5 though.....I don't wanna keep it that high (1/5 divider) though with an 8 or 8.5 multi, so I'm thinking 10 or 10.5 will be my sweet spot @166mhz or so (1/4 divider). Running 11.5x150 right now.

Im thinking of trying again myself

I would love the 10 and 10.5 and 11.5 I only have 11 (12 default) and 13 on my XP1900

But I have an 8045 also and its such a royal pain. Everything looked perfect also. I may need to use clear nail polish to fill in the trench instead of thermal paste. The thought of trying again only to lose the 11x which I like on my XP1900 and then having to try a 3rd time makes me wonder if its worth it.

jzodda, do you know the exact dimensions between the L1 dots (both over the pits and the pins next to each other?). Juststarted has offered to make some circuit board traces with his plotter....the results of the picture he posted were extremely impressive. Very precisely constructed and the resulting silver paint traces were extremely clean. Check out the link above. He won't get his XP for about a week though so he doesn't know the exact measurements. I'd be glad to test/pay for those traces, would be a very nice service to ATers once the right specs were worked out.

Anyway, yah I used thermal paste as well, but I think a few of the pits weren't completely filled after I cleaned the contacts. Some paint probably slid in there and shorted the bridges in the pits. If I try again, I'm gonna use some white-out instead.
