Unlocked Cell Phone

Can I buy any unlocked cell phone off eBay, newegg or something and get it to work with my sprint plan? I'm thinking I lost my phone for good. Lol.

Try asking the Sprint people. Their phones dont use SIM's correct? I dont know how you would be able to slip the new phone in unnoticed. Just be honest and tell them you lost your phone and want to replace it with an unlocked one you purchased online.

No for two reasons. One the types of phones you seem to be inferring are GSM as shorty said and Sprint/Verizon are CDMA. Second, Sprint only allows Sprint branded phones, period with no exceptions.

You can only use CDMA phones on Sprint's network. Plus, you'll have a very hard time finding a Sprint employee that would add an unlocked CDMA phone's ESN number to Sprint's network. Without adding that phone's ESN number to Sprint's network, that phone won't work at all on Sprint unless you're in an area covered by them and you need to dial 911.
