hi all, i have a question. i am running a new duron 750 oc'd to 794 right now (106 x 7.5). i have used a pencil (and a microscope) to unlock my L1 bars. everything boots and is running fine but my question is how can i to advantage of my unlocked duron if the motherboard has no "settings" to change the multiplier? the mobo is a biostar m7vkb, which runs nice, but only, as far as i can tell, allows adjustment of the fsb. oh yeah, the CPUFSB program wont allow it either. any ideas?

If you don't have any Multiplier control options, you can try pencilling in the bridges that control the multiplier. I believe Anandtech has an articles which will enable you to figure out which bridges you can pencil to get a higher multiplier. Anything up to 9 should be fine- most Duron 750s can do at least 900 or so at 1.85 volts.

thank you for the reply! i did pencil in the L1 to unlock the multiplier, but there are no switches on the mobo to set the multiplier and there are no settings in the bios to set it either. the only thing i can set in the bios is the fsb. help please?😕

Sorry, but there's nothing you can do. I have the exact same combo of CPU/Motherboard at school and there's no way you can change the multiplier. You could try closing some of the L6 bridges to manually set the multiplier, but because of the setting for 750, I think the only option for the L6 bridges is 1.1GHz, which your CPU could probably not handle.

It sucks I know, but at least you can up the FSB. I've got some of my 750s doing as high as 825 (115 FSB) with the FSB jacked up.

if all you are doing is overclocking the fsb, then there really was no need to connect the L1 brigdes. you only need to connect the bridged if you plan on changing the multiplier

<< maybe you should clock it down to 100mhz?? then i may be able to catch up >>

HMMMM! its a thought.🙂

OK that thought passed! 😛
