Hi!

I have an 1 GHz T-bird running 100 MHz in an Asus A7V133. Does anybody have possitive/negative results in unlocking such a CPU and let it run at 133 MHz * 7,5 mulitplier in this motherboard?
Which voltage should I choose?
Am I damaging the CPU by "overclocking" it, or should it be okay, since it's still running 1 GHz?

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to those who helped me with my coolerproblem. I have ordered a GlobalWin FOP32 and a Vantec PC air circulation cooler, so I should be okay!

well, unlocking the chip, by pencil or conductive pen, automatically voids the warranty. but as long as you don't do anything stupid (it the computer won't boot, turn it off immediately, don't leave it on), it physically should be fine. sometimes you need to unlock even if you do not intend to overclock, like if you have pc133 memory and want to run at a 133 bus.

Hi!
I set up a a7v133 with a 1 GHz T-bird last week. I unlocked the cpu and changed it to run 7.5*133 MHz at standard voltage. Worked just great! Then i tried 9*133 MHz also standard voltage, and have run it for almost a week now at 1200 MHz. It's no problem at all... also tried 10x133 MHz but then my boot disk was gone... :)
I think i can get more if i raise the voltage, but for now i will run it as it is...
