sounds like it would be hard to cool down there. Better get a vapochill or something. ;)

anyways very cool service of you warmachine. I sincerely hope you don't run into any problems with other people's gear though.

good luck

What are you guys using to fill the gaps prior to closing the L1 bridges?
Only superglue?

And anyone know if the EPOX Nforce2 board will unlock the multipliers on a 1600XP AGOIA stepped CPU?

I use two part epoxy then I use some stuff I got from a rear window defogger kit
copper based dries in like thirty seconds. checked it with a multi meter got .04 resistance

Heh... I've used yellow crayon and rear window defogger kit on several chips and it works perfectly. Best part of doing it that way is that it all easily comes off without a trace with a little rubbing alcohol. ;)

I don't know which ones you have seen but the 1ghz AXIA's I have had would do 1.5ghz. 1.4ghz at default voltage. So, just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean its not possible. I can say I wasn't able to do 1.7ghz though. I used a GlobalWin WBK38 HSF for my TBird oc's.

I have a 1.2 AXIA core that I've bumped up to 1.7 with no prob whatsoever, but I don't notice much difference in my games and such, so I put it back down. heh

Right....

what'd you use for cooling and voltage? LN2 and 2.5v? And no "difference in games and such?"
rolleye.gif

All AXIA's I have seen (and I've seen a few) max between 1.35 (default voltage) to 1.42 (1.85v and air) to 1.55 (if you're really lucky AND aggressive).

warmachine, nice offer :)

I can change the multiplier anyways.
Nice feature
(unless xp's are coming unlocked nowadays, not sure)

I'm really curious how your mobo lets you change multipliers without unlocking because the XP's as far as I know all come locked?
Im pretty sure if you change the multiplier without unlocking on any mobo then the system will either not post or it will post but still be at the stock speed.

You don't read well, do you? My point was that 1.7G was impossible for any AXIA on air. No one ever got one that high on air. No one. AYHJA's could possibly get that high but not AXIA's.
The rest of what I said what the result of my averages working with several different chips. And I used to use the same HSF, a WBK38... nasty noisy little sucker with screaming Delta and a bad clip. Mine eventually warped from too much heat.

war just received a "10" rating from me for his offer. Also a bump for a great offer. I'm located in SE PA (dajeepster, keep me in mind if you find a local unlocker for your chip) and got my 1600+ to 1.6 @ 37c. There's much more room to go but my KG7 doesn't offer a 5:1 divider to bring the PCI bus back into spec. An unlock would probably net another 150 mhz but I'm in no hurry. This thing plus a GF4 4200 plays any game out there with no problemos !

Wow....Never thought so many of us where from Roch cha cha. So who wants to come play in my lab when I go on unemployment next month? I'm thinking with 50 machines, I gotta be able to do something cray-z. Hey warmachine, you wanna come OC a bunch of older processors and build a grid or cluster for fun?

So when are people gonna realize that we are the ones that control the economy. With my addiction I can't afford to be unemployed for long!

Bump for a great offer!

This is an amazing offer! Although I can't use it, the spirits are apprecaited!

I tried to o/c my XP1700+ to about 1900. It worked, but the standard OEM cooler would not hold. Had to tuned it back to default. have been too lazy to get a better cooler.
