unknown partition?

I recently bought a new computer and installed Partition Magic 7 to partition my serial ATA drive. When I ran PM, I saw a partition with a type called 'CP/M, Concurrent DOS, CTOS'. I was wondering what this was and if it would be ok to delete it(it takes up 3 gigs).

Also, my hard drive was suppose to be 160GB but winXP only shows 145GB. I know there is usually some lost space but does this seem a little extreme?

thx

Go ahead and delete if you want.

However snoop around in it, sometimes harddrives sold with OEM computers include the installation media on them.. so that the makers don't have to deal with the cost of printing out so many extra CDs.

I've only heard it for laptops, but I suppose the same thing would apply for desktops.
