Unknown Intel processor

So i right click my computer and go into system properties and under Computer, instead of saying intel Pentium 4 processor, it just says unknown intel processor. I also noticed that my video card info(chip type, dac type, memory size, adapter string, bios info) in display properties all showed as unavailable. I had reformatted just a week ago and dont know what could be causing this problem. Could it be hardware failure? Any advice would be awesome.

P4 2.4GHZ
1 GIG ram
AIW 9700 pro
windows XP service pack 2
Audigy 2

I would replace the BIOS battery and flash to the latest BIOS file. I recently flashed my P4P800 to be able to use a P4-3.0E CPU.

My windows XP says unknown video card, untill I install the official ATI drivers. Make sure your drivers are installed for chipset and video. That could make the difference.
