unknown codec video

i have a video taken from a camera and i can't find any program to play it,,, i tried a lot,, and am not sure about the camera type,, please help

Do you know the file format? If files are any of the standard formats, and your camera has a USB port, you should be able to copy the video files to your hard drive. From there, you can play them or burn them to a DVD to play on external DVD players.

To find players that will play your files, just search for Google for the file extension (avi, mov, wmv, etc.) to find the players that will play them. If you have Windows Media Player, Quicktime, Real Player, etc. they may be able to show them without even searching.

Tried VLC or SMplayer?

Use a software like MediaInfo to determine the video codec used.

Dude, you're not giving us any detail? The first thing would be to tell us the file extension (.avi, .mov etc).... the next logical step is to identify the exact video codec used, through a FourCC identifier, like one of those listed here: http://www.fourcc.org/identifier/

Go and check your camera's instruction book/pdf or go to the manufacturer's site. The format should be listed.
