Unix Commands in win2k

In the CS lab here at virginia tech, you can use unix-like commands (ls, vi, etc) in the win2k command shell. Supposedly all they had to do to make this work was change somethin in the registry. Does anyone know if this is true, or if not, any other way to do it?

Thanks

I don't think you can get that stuff from just a registry change. Cygwin will give you that stuff though. It is a fairly large download, but comes with many utilities. Even comes with GCC.

Perhaps it is the so called "Unix Services" from microsoft... NT had a beta version that didn't work that
well, I have been told that the 2K version work as it should...

Of course it could just be a Cygwin install....

Yes, forgot about that. Could be windows services for unix also. That costs money though and cygwin is free, so I would go with cygwin.
