Isn't the University considered liable cause they allowed him to take those classes in that time period? I don't know how they charge, but the University I went to charged me per class. So if I took 10 classes, I paid for 10. The only money they would be losing are all the fees such as parking and the fees they charge to use the gym and stuff. That would be there fault I would think.

It sounds like they had a group going so that Person 1 would enroll in Classes A, B, and C, Person 2 would enroll in Classes D, E, and F, and Person 3 would enroll in Classes G, H, and I. Person1 would share the class notes for A, B, and C with Person 2 and 3 who then used them to test out of the class, and so on. It's the school's fault for letting them test out.

Did they have a "balance of degree" fee thing? Is that why they're sueing, because he saved a lot of money?

If not, university's f*cking retarded. Both universities I have/will attend have a "minimum length" meaning you can finish as soon as you want, but you still owe them the tuition for the time you didn't spend there.

FML, I had to pay $3500 over the past few months after graduating from my master's.

Wow, just wow. The University should be happy that one of their students is doing well, instead of suing them for money. A university's primary job should be education not making a profit.

This reminded me of my community college years... their counselars were telling me I need to take this class and that class to go to this universitry, blah blah blah... by the time I transfered to a 4 year university I had 3 associate of arts degrees from the community college o_O... So I packed massive units per quarter to finish 2 years worth of upper division classes to get my B.S. degree in 12 months...

It's a private university, so not so much.
