University of Phoenix? Anyone attend this college?

Nocturnal

Lifer
How does this private college stack up to any regular public college? I read through their site and you can go there one day a week for about two years and obtain a bachelors.

TIA!

Also please only post relevant info to my topic at hand. Thanks guys I'd appreciate it.

What are the differences as far as when you are applying for a job and you list down Uni of Phoenix (bachelors of science) compared to listing down Uni of UCLA (bachelors of science)? Do you honestly think that they would pick or choose one college over the other?

Thanks. Tyler I'm still trying to persue CS at my uni but a friend told me that he goes here so I was just wondering how good this college is. Thanks for the input.

my gf was gonna go there but she smelled something fishy and didn't like it after talking to their recruiters / counselors.

University of Phoenix isn't really much of a university... It's like Devry.

What are you smoking? It's a very highly accredited private university. WAY higher than DeVry or any of those tech schools.

I finally got into the federal job that I wanted. They require at least an assocaites degree to work for them though (doing IT work, network admin, laying fiber optics, etc) I'm also gonna have to get secret clearance for this job as well. But I finally got my foot in the door and now I'm working on my goals to get me there.

i wouldn't put much stock in any university that has to advertise on tv across the nation to get applicants

Or send me tons of spam!

If I had a choice between any normal university and University of Phoenix, I would rather go to the normal university... even if the normal university was Bubbaville College. I don't think people consider a university that advertises for students on TV and where most of the people get their degrees online a real school.

I was going to but got talked out of it by a co-worker that is and thinks it sucks. Classes (IT) are just lectures an dnot actually at a computer. The classes nly meet once per week but then you have like 5 hours of "Study Groups" outside of classes. He hates it so I passed.
