What should I use for both a gaming console and my computer, a tv or a pc monitor? I can't afford to buy both so I am looking for one really good solution. Thanks for any help.

A TV set will support only one resolution, possibly something like 1366x768 in 16:9 widescreen.

This will have some issues with displaying a computer signal. It is feasible but more complicated.

Gaming consoles don't have DVI or VGA outputs to be directly compatible with a standard computer monitor

Your best bet would be to get a widescreen computer monitor that has components inputs (and, even better, HDMI) in addition to standard DVI and VGA connectors.

A multimedia monitor. 😉

What's your price range, what sizes are you looking at, and what types of games do you play?

Aha thanks. A multimedia monitor? I'd like to stay near or under a grand and as for sizes I have no preference, just nothing that forces me into a weird resolution. I play mostly RPG's and some online games and RTS. Thanks.
