United Nations?

The UN was built on compromise. Unfortunately, that compromise compromised its ability to achieve its goals. It is in need of serious reform if it wants to achieve many of its goals.
 
As much as I hate to agree with the OP, a hard pragmatic look at the UN results a pretty sad conclusion. There are certainly many individual portions of it that are worth keeping (WHO is the most obvious example, also ICAO, ITU, etc etc) but it would be no real loss if the security council and general assembly ceased to exist.

Yup, I posted that. It still amazes me that anyone would take anything I say seriously. Damn, People, this is the internet. It fact it's a forum site. It's meant for fun. These sites and those that take them so seriously, amuse me.

Sometimes, but rarely, there is actually good and useful information posted.

It's not any different from all the other taxes people pay, or from the theft in 2008 performed by our banks and government. That is really the problem here. You think if an accountant or a banker steals from us then that is OK, but if the governments do it then it is somehow this whole big issue. I think it's just the same old shit and just another day. There is nothing we can do to stop any of it and as long as they aren't sending the police or military into my house to literally rob me I'm not going to worry too much about it because it's not going to change.

The right won't stop it, the left won't stop it, the people won't stop it...so why spend the rest of my life in a paranoid tailspin worried about peopel stealing my money?

Because if you are not aware or concerned they will take your money. The liberals in government really believe they know how to spend your money and run your life better than you do.
 
I agree the UN needs to go. its become a joke. the idea is great but in reality it falls short.
 
We're in the U.N. for a good reason, to stop as much of their idiocy as we can. The real question should be why do we fund so much of it and why do we let it HQ in New York? Stop giving them money and kick them out of the U.S.
 
u.n. is a retrograde hate america organization largely comprised of eco-KOOKS and utopian dictators. The HQ needs to be moved to the absolute worst part of Afghanistan. The US needs to stop all funding and leave first opportunity.
