That stuff flew under the radar for some reason. The Holocaust seemed to eclipse the fact that over 17 million allied civilians died during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Not to say the Holocaust wasn't important, but it was far from the only massacre.

And America in Japan was what? With 2 bombs we killed around 300k, with full intention of continuing to nuke them until they surrendered.

America was getting some revenge for Pearl Harbor and ending the war.
Remember, a war needn't be fought "civilized," nor with a bunch of polite rules...A war should be fought to win, and if that means killing every living member of the enemy...including all the civilians...so be it.

Also remember, Japan started it...we finished it.

Because dropping bombs to end a war is the same thing as genocide.

Blithely killing civilians is blithely killing civilians. And many Americans were serious about killing every single person in Japan. Their only moral dilemma was whether to drop the bombs one at a time or stock them up to drop them in quick succession.

My point is that nobody is the good guy, and nobody wins.

Please provide proof of your claim.

America was the good guy and America damn sure won.

if you really want to complain, look a the the firebombing of Dresden and Tokyo, the fire in those cities created their own weather.

my understanding is the reason only 2 nukes were used was because that all we had at the time and it would have taken some time to produce more.

What done is done. no sense crying over split milk. we could argue for hours whether the nukes were really necessary. That is one thing we will most likely never know.

The Japanese were fully prepared to fight with every man woman and child to not lose the war They Started with the USA. We had two alternatives:

1. Drop the bomb # 01 and give them a chance to surrender. If not drop # 02. This saved hundreds of thousands of lives of both US and Japanese.

2. Move on into the Japan and fight and kill every man woman and child, or at least enough to get them to roll over.

Which was a poorer choice?

The highest estimates were about 200,000 within the first 4 months after ( August to December ). Granted many more died later from various complications of the bombs and other causes. There never was an accurate accounting of deaths.

This is just another case of uninformed people building up strawmen to....hell usually there is a point they are trying to make but I can't figure this one out. They are making up their own history and ignoring well documented facts.

What's next? We only invaded Iwo Jima because that's where the women and children were? We stormed Normandy because we wanted fresh steaks?
