I would like to know how to uninstall "thecoolbar". I have gone into program files and found nothing, then the ad/remove and nothing. It is linked to a porno site and it keeps poping up, it is then puts a short cut on my desk top that looks like an email download file, and when I try to trash it it just comes back. When I hit the shortcut link, it shows it is from "thecoolbar". It also has this rate my pup and bargin buddies that keep coming back. Please someone help me. Apparently you're not the first person to have this problem.

The folks on this page seem to think they have the solution. You have to read several posts down into the page before you get to a manual removal solution.
 
Hi Chris and Welcome to the Forums!

Have you tried running Ad Aware and Spybot ? They are free proggies for the d/l. Just click on their names. I have "linkified" them for you.
