Uniquely American foods/products to give as presents

I may be traveling out of the country. What I wanted to bring some uniquely American foods or products as presents to friends. What can I take them without getting busted at the airport for contraband?

To where?

Home cooked or packaged?

Probably no end to the unique crap you can find packaged that could be found few other places on Earth. Twinkies, different candies, other mostly unremarkable junk.

Last year my in-laws from Sweden visited. I gave my brother in law bourbon, and my nephew on his own bought half a dozen boxes of Twinkies to take back with him. So both may be good ideas.

Bring them cans of skyline chili and make some spaghetti to put it on when you get there. Nothing more american than a 3 way, even if greeks made it and its a Cincinnati thing.

I'll offer some that haven't been mentioned yet.

Sloppy Joes, you can bring just the can of sauce.

Fluff.

Grits

Jello - you can bring the powder boxes.

Bring them Americanized versions of their native food. Show them how it's done right. They'll appreciate the upgrades.

Hot chicken, red eye gravy, biscuits and sausage gravy, Nathan's hot dogs, Chow mein... Use your imagination. Most of what we eat has a uniquely American twist.
