Stop being such a bunch of useless fatties, and maybe the problem will go away by itself.

Fat people are like the canaries in the mine of freedom. Who is the government to tell you that you can't be fat? If they can, how much do we truly own even our own bodies?

Apparently yes, which is yet another reason why this is so retarded. I guess it'll take some extra physical effort on the part of one person to go to the grocery store and stock up on 2 liters for pizza night.

So it will keep fat people from having the 2 liters :D

This is soooo stupid, I wish I was surprised but many in places of power seem to have no clue how to help anyone other than themselves.

A government large enough to give you everything - is also large enough to TAKE everything.

You want them involved in healthcare? You got it, welcome to North Korea. You signed away your body, now you're going to be told what to do with it.

Unintended effects of a nanny state? Unintended? Republicans and Democrats know exactly what they're doing, these are the intended effects - they want power.

Sorry, New Yorkers voted for him, they are getting what they deserve.
I agree with mcowen. NYers deserve this and more for keeping people like Bloomberg in power. They want to be told when to wipe and how many sheets to use, so I hope they love being nannied over absolutely ridiculous bullshit like 16 oz of drink. Lap it up, sheep.

Agreed and about the only time I can recall ever agreeing with Dave.

BTW, does this comment by the judge also pertain to trans-fats law on the books and the target that salt has on it's back?:

In his ruling, Judge Tingling found the Board of Health's mission is to protect New Yorkers by providing regulations that prevent and protect against diseases. Those powers, he argued, don't include the authority to "limit or ban a legal item under the guise of 'controlling chronic disease.' "

This is why I laugh at people who scoff at the midwest or south. High taxes, high cost of living, cold weather, and this nanny state bullshit. And they talk down to the rest of the country like we are the idiots.

Your entertainment consists of doing meth and watching cars turn left, and your obesity rates top 30%.

Most sane people would choose fat people doing meth and driving in circles over the horseshit some of you coastdwellers consider entertainment...

Bloomberg is a Republican turned Independent. Me thinks this ban is desgned to increase sugary drink sales...since you have to buy more and spend more. Does he really think this will solve the obesity problem? All this does is hit the poor and lower class working families in the wallet. This is as stupid as his laws governing pain patients and their doctors.

He's a fucking Democrat that turned Republican and is now an Independent. I've worn shoes longer then he was a Republican. He acts like a fucking typical Authoritarian liberal asshole.
