How can you make sure an application is totally deleted out of the system.

I downloaded this trial application and wanted to try it a little bit more but even if you uninstall and reinstall it knows you past the time allowed, obviously there is a key from the software still in the system.

If you can not trust the installer to remove everything, then you have to either replace the registry after running the installer, or have imaged the system prior to installing the trial.

There are registry cleaners out there that may help and other tricks that are not mentionable.

If the trial has expired and you do not need the S/W, why should it matter?
If you need the S/W after the trial, then apparently, it is valuable enough to purchase it.
If you just need to try it out a little more, then contact the vendor.

Uninstall and reboot.

Run Task Manager to check for running processes (free Process Explorer utility helps to identify non-Windows processes). For example, simple uninstall of Norton 2002 will likely leave Navprot process running even after uninstall and reboot. Halt and disable any left-over processes.

Do a registry-search with an such as RegSeeker, searching registry entries for the product and/or company name (Example: Search for Norton and Symantec). Remove them - if you're sure they apply to the removed program.

Do a junk-file removal (I like Ace Utilities for really safe junk-file removal).

Manually search for left over folders and remove them.

Hope this helps!
