Uninstalling Oblivion

First off gotta apologize I couldn't find the answer in either of the Oblivion threads.

Short version is I installed the beta patch and almostly immediately got a hard lock. After several reboots/tries the game no longer a) loads saves, or b) starts new games.

so I'm trying to uninstall & reinstall, but the uninstaller CTD with a windows error message.

Is there a way to uninstall the program other than the games uninstaller? (Add/Remove Programs in the control panel has the same result)

Yeah, that patch is not ready for prime time. I uninstalled it myself. PITA.

Anyway, theres a few known issues with uninstalls. Check over here for your solution.
 
Patch Release Notes

Installation Issue
If you repeatedly uninstall and re-install Oblivion, certain systems will display an error message if you try to uninstall Oblivion again. To fix this, put your Oblivion disk in and run setup.exe. This will clear up the error and you can uninstall and reinstall the game.
