Uninstalling IE

I have been getting an occasional blue screen of death when executing commands in IE 6. I figured that it might have gotten corrupted and should be reinstalled. But unlike 3d party software, I don't see IE 6 when I bring up the Add/Remove Programs control panel in Win 2K.

First: Is uninstalling and reinstalling IE 6 a good first step to address this problem? If not, what would be better?

Second: How best to uninstall IE 6?

Thanks

To remove IE, try this:

IEradicator

This program will remove all traces of Internet Explorer from your system. I used it when I was having problems with IE a couple fo weeks ago, but it didn't fix my problem. It DID, however, clean out my registry throughly of IE references. It is good at what it does, but it could disable other software dependent on some of the same system files. (It blew up my ACDsee v4)

Just for grins, go to C;\program Files\DirectX and run dxdiag. make sure it runs through the tests cleanly. if it fails on anything, your problemmay be related to it. That's a quick URL click away to Microsoft for a reinstall.

Good luck, and let us know if either of these solve your problem.
