Uninstalling Firefox 2 without messing up Firefox 3

I installed firefox 3 about a month ago and it didn't uninstall Firefox 2 (probably not supposed to) so Firefox 2 has been lingering around and some applications still launch it. So I want to uninstall Firefox 2 but when I go to add/remove programs it lists both firefox 2 and firefox 3, but the uninstall button seems to do the same for both of them; get rid of all things firefox. How do I get rid of firefox 2 and keep firefox 3?

I dunno... but as long as you backup your profile, you can burn the whole thing down, reinstall, and barely miss a beat. Someone else may have some more specific advice for you though.

If you wanna be super anal, back up your profile, uninstall FF2 and FF3, then reinstall FF3, then restore your profile.

What do you mean by backing up your profile? Is this something you do in Firefox or Windows? Or do you mean to back up everything in Documents and Settings for your account?

Hi
Firefox profile is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox you can back this up for safety but you should have no probs just by doing an uninstall then reinstall of ff3
Cheers
