Uninstalling DirectX 8

Hi,

I'm having various audio and video problems (one problem in program a, a different problem in program b) and wanted to go back to Direct X 7a from Direct X 8 to test if it was the source of my problems.

I tried installing 7a over 8, but the installer quit after it determined there was a newer version, 8, installed.

I haven't been able to determine how to uninstall 8 or get 7a to install over it.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

try to use a directx uninstaller from reactor critical or check out this discussion forum dedicated to banishing directx.

otherwise, a search on google for "uninstall directx 8" turned up a lot of relevant hits. google is the one true search engine. 😀

Works nice, then reboot and install 7a all fixed...
