Does anyone know how to uninstall IE in Win2k? My install has been corrupted and I can't find any to way to fix it w/out reformatting. I would rather not have to reformat because it takes forever to reinstall Win2k, all of my apps, and various patches. I need to get Ghost and image my boot drive so I do not have to reinstall each time but that is besides the point right now. Also, how much data can be put on a Image CD my current install is about 3.3 gig after all of my programs and games.

Tip for Ghost.

Ghost your drive to another partition or hard drive. Boot to the ghost disk and simply locate your image. This works for me.

Also, I limit my ghost image by not installing any applications to my system partition. Instead I have a Games partition and an Apps partition. This lets me keep my system partition at 3GB which is plenty.

I have tried everything up to even the most recent beta verson and it still does not fix my problem. I also tried to repair the install but that did not help. The particular error I am getting is with Outlook Express, when I try to load it I get "MSOE.dll could not be loaded". I am currently using Outlook but I would like to possible retrieve my old messages. I may have to just reformat and start over. It will only be the third or fourth time I have had to start over since school started. That is why I asked about Ghost. The first time Liquid Player trashed Win2k. The second time, stupid me, I tried to load Red Hat 7 on a 6 gig IDE HD and it destroyed the MBR and I almost lost my enitre year's worth of school work and file I had collected. Luckly I was able to retrive them off my second partition before i had to reformat. I had/have 2 partitions on my 30 gig drive (10 & 20) my 20 gig partion showed that there was no space available. Sorry for the rant, I love Win2k. It's just that when it crashes, it crahsed really Hard.:(

Seta: I guess that you Ghost after you have all of your progs installed. Otherwise you would have to reinstall them anyway to replace the lost sys files.

In case you ever kill the Win2k boot Loader. Boot to the Win2k CD. Choose the Repair option. Repair the Boot contents.

I every case that I had to reformat, I tried to repair the install first. My success rate has been about 1 in 5.:(

1. Find msoe.dll on your system.
2. Rename it to msoe.old
3. Extract msoe.dll from IE5.5's mailnews.cab or from Win2000 SP1 to the same location.
4. Run regsvr32 on the msoe.dll that you extracted.
