Will update the last run sooner or later, but realistically I won't be getting much more out of it.

You can probably buy some copper wire and stick that into the pin holes to get contact.

thx for the suggestion,
sounds reasonable
i will definitely try something
as in work in the machine building industry (automotive supplier) i think i will take the chip to the company and show it to some people who really know how to solder stuff

nice try on power consumption
the difference is crazy

Would like to break 3K but I don't think it's going to happen as the core does not want to go much higher and increasing the memory clocks alone is not netting me any peformance. Oh well ^_^

Also F2F - I noticed that in the results link you haven't specified between R9 290 and 290X, any particular reason for that? Thanks 😉

That's a darn good run for a R9 290 under air. That's about what I average with a Reference Gigabyte R9 290X clocked at 1180/1500 with +.156mv. I running Elpida which limits me to 1500Mhz on the vRam. I've done a 2995 suicide run at 1200/1500. I should be under water next week and see if I can break that illusive 3000 score for a Single GPU AMD Card.
