heho,
new gtx 770 for 2 way sli
new score:
3348
80.0 fps
min 35.2
max 142.9
cpu: xeon e3 1230 v3
very satisfied with benchmark scores, except new card runs way hotter than old one, even runs into thermal throttle at 100% fan speed, so i raised it to 85°C on the evga precision x tool
how far can i go up? what do you guys think?
its the lower card, so it should be the cooler one,
the cooler itself is bigger, too and is three fan vs two fan in the older card
maybe the silicon isn´t as good
it produces annoying coil feeping as well
when cool enough both cards run at 1176 GHz
older card alone runs 1254 when some offset is added
old card is: inno 3d gtx 770 herkulez 2000
new card: palit gtx 770 (3fan design, not jetstream)
should have gotten another inno 3d, it also lets you increase power target to 120%
(just for you watercooler afficionados who don`t want to temper with bios)
the palit only 106 %, but that one runs into thermal throttle anyway
maybe i get another one though and give the palit to my sister or build a mini pc around it
as a single gpu i wouldn´t have the problem of both cards running at different clocks when the one runs hot
that can´t be good in regard of the ever so notorious microstutter issue
whenever i see stuttering in my multi gpu systems i blame it on that or vga ram being short, but i´m not sure (downsampling)
when constantly hitting full 60vsync fps i don´t see any
still very happy with scores and performance
