I've owned two Uniden phones, the latest being a 5.6GHz model. I bought them because of the price and features, mostly.

I totally regret the purchase. The battery life is about half of what I'm used to for a cordless phone. The battery always seems to die at the worst times. I figured my battery was perhaps faulty, so I dropped $25 for a replacement battery. Same problem. Uniden phones seem to be very power hungry. Also, there is no second battery in the base to swap out when you need it. You gotta swipe a battery from another handset.

I don't have the model you're considering, but I'm wary of Uniden phones. I recently switched back to a Panasonic and haven't regretted it. Battery life is a total non-issue.

Anyway, I hope this helped.

I just got this phone my self to work with my PAP2 VOIP setup. It works fine. I would say it is worth the $30 you will pay for it, but I doubt I would pay $70 or more. I have not used all the features yet, but it seems very clear, and the volume is good on it. The outside LCD is not very bright, but the inside is fine. All in all, for the price after rebate, it is a good deal.

Only review I've found stated that teh speaker was crappy and that the range was horrible.
Anyone else have any experience with this phone?

Anyone know if these extensions will work with the Uniden ELBT595 bluetooth enabled base station in cellphone mode? That's the base station that will communicate with your bluetooth enabled cellphone and allow you to use your cellphone (instead of a land line) to communicate with the outside world.

I know these extensions will work with the ELBT595. My question is: If you have the ELBT595 and are making calls through your cellphone, will these ELT560 (non bluetooth) extension phones work to also make calls through the cellphone? It seems they should (extension talks to base station via 5.8Ghz, and base station talks to world through bluetooth link to cellphone). But do they?
