I like mine with saltines.
Weaksauce. You probably use generic American singles too. This is your problem. Bland cheese, bland crackers, bland life. Once you fix the cheese and crackers, your life should fall into place.
First off, throw out the saltines. The only good use for them is soup, and oyster crackers are better. What you want is rosemary and olive oil Triscuits. If you're in a "refined" mood(as in subtlety is king), Finncrisp or Kavli is good. Then get a block of Cabot seriously sharp cheddar. Only n00bs use slices. Cut off some reasonable thick pieces, and put them on the crackers. Then you put a huge dollop of Tropical Pepper Co 4x habanero, or El Yucateco green sauce on it, and eat. Don't skimp on the hot sauce. Your problem is you do things half-assed. Make a proper cracker, and load that fucker up.
The only time it's acceptable to leave out the hot sauce is when you're going upscale, using the fancy crackers with boutique cheese. I think that's a little advanced for you at this stage though, so stick with the hot sauce for now. Do that for two weeks, and you'll have a new life. I guarantee it.
