Please look at both these threads and tell me if you think my thread getting locked was a biased decision. I'm compairing a similar thread that didn't get locked, to mine.

hmmmmmmm...

They do both seem to imply the same thing (only opposite parts)

but it is not my decision.

Yours was posted in the evening, when the mean mod rules.

Next time post in the early afternoon like the other person ;)

yasha,

Yep, no doubt about it, the moderators are out to get you. Must be some kind of conspiracy.

Or, maybe it's just because that stupid rooster pic has been posted a hundred times before?

So should I bring this up to someone's attention? I don't think it's fair that the Mods get to pick and choose which threads get locked souly on bias opinion. I think equal rules should apply for everyone. There are plenty of bbs' that aren't bias in this way.

Well your thread was neffing - the mods were getting angry about having to crack down on stupid, useless posts. Why that other guys wasn't locked? Because that's his cat. Is that your cock in your thread?

Raging BITCH> I was looking for intelligent responses. I DID post in OFF TOPIC so what you might call "useless" might not apply to this situation. I found my post to be humorous. I think that's something that this place can use more of. How does that other person's post serve a more usefull purpose? Will it help me to know that the cat in her thread is hers as opposed to not being hers?

BTW, bitches can be found for a dime a dozen.

Oh, thank you for the bump! ;)

"Or, maybe it's just because that stupid rooster pic has been posted a hundred times before?"

And how are we supposed to know that, mr. allmighty moderator?

Yasha: Don't take it so personally. That pic was already floating around the forums in the other thread which was posted prior to yours. It was a repost, there doesn't need to be more than one rooster pic floating around at any one time, so they locked it. No big deal.

Luckster: To figure out if something has been posted before, run a search. If your search turns up nothing, but it's still a repost, then at least you tried.

Before we enter thread newbies please put on your flame retardant suit. Ok is everyone in ? Double check those suits please !
Ok now pay attention newbies today's lesson is flamer, flame flaming.

So in this example yasha is the poster of the thread. He/she is getting peeved that AnandTech Moderator didn't reply yet. But yasha did not mention AnandTech Moderator , MOD, Mods in the topic of thread.
In my lesson of two weeks ago about getting the moderator's remember the importance of including AnandTech Moderator your attention please.... or the like in your topic.

So now we have a peeved poster waiting for a answer and in walks the flamer(s). In this case RagingBITCH and Russ are the flamer(s) note their status we will come back to that.

Reading their posts you can see them flaming the thread and the poster.

But wait in walks Luckster(Senior Member) and he/she is wearing the BRAND NEW Apex X10 PRO Flame Thrower.:Q Starts reading thread gets overwhelmed :| and seizes the chance to fry to a crisp a Elite Member with the new toy. Powers up :D and throws the switch on that X10 Pro. I want emphasis (while he sticks a fork in fried member) the power of X10 Pro especially in the hands of a new member, member and senior member! When elite, diamond, platinum and golden are in the sight. ;)

In walks Azraele to try to make peace. He/she tries but to late the horrific conflagration has only started. :(

End of class. :D

First off, this is just my humble opinion.

Your thread got locked because it was a repost AND you post too much AND because it appeared to be a post just like the one that didn't get locked.

kranky> I may post too much but it's only because I love AnandTech :) Perhaps my thread was a repost but sometimes the search doesn't bring up anything because it's very picky with key words. I did not plain out use the word "cock" for the search, though perhaps it would have been a wiser choice. I still think that the decision to lock my thread was a bias one. I've only been on here about a month but have already seen gross evidence of favoritism through out the forums with regard to how certain Mods treat user's threads. You know I speak the truth!

Yasha: Mod calls here are judgement calls. What mod deems lockworthy another may not. They are human and do their best as volunteers to be unbaised and fair to all.

The pic in question was posted first in the other thread. There was no need to have 2 of the same pic floating around, so the mod locked the one that was posted after the other one. End of story, it's not a big deal. :)

I should have said you probably start too many threads instead of saying you post too much. You were probably under scrutiny already so you were on a short leash. Again, just my opinion.

Azraele> I authored this thread because I usually expect a logical reason for why someone takes action against me. I've been a member on numerous BBS' over the years and have never encountered this kind of decision making by a Mod, Sysop or any other type of administrator. I was simply making a point and was hoping for a clear reply from Mods or other seasoned users as to why they locked the thread. If the way Mods take action in this BBS is by a "How I feel like it at the moment" method, then I can't do anything about that, if that's the adopted policy. I thought I saw the last of this type of childish "clique" thing back in highschool. I guess I now know what Anand is all about.

Yasha: I don't see where the favoritism is in your situation. The thread that didn't get locked was there first. Yours was unnecessary. The mod that locked it didn't have anything against you. They were just knocking out a redundant thread. Had your thread been posted first and someone else posted it again, your thread would have been left and the other locked.

As for your "How I feel like it at the moment" method, if that's what you call a judgement call, so be it. These mods are volunteers and do the best they can. Sometimes they make a boo boo and in those cases, they'll fix it. Your thread lock was straight forward. There's no conspiracy here.

Sometimes users disagree with a decision. Goodness knows I have in the past, and may do so again, but the bottom line comes down to the fact that we have to respect what they decide. This is a private forum and subject to such moderation, and no one is holding you here against your will.

JMHO. :)
