I found out today (my birthday) that when i opened my check i got a 5% increase, not a significant amount but none-the-less better then 0%. Kind of interesting to open up your paycheck and receive a raise even though you don't expect it.

Anyone else here received an unexpected raise?

A regular raise, as I would anywhere else. Actually, Midway/Heber has one of the highest income/household averages in the state.

I've gotten raises in my paycheck before being officially notified by HR. I got the letter informing me of my new salary two weeks later.

That sounds typical. Have you ever known HR to be ahead of the curve?

The HR at my company weighed 350 lbs. The only curves that she was ahead of was the curve in her doughnuts.
