This guy literally punded the pavement of New York City for 99 weeks.

I know none of you silver spoon rich Republicans would ever do that or survive.

Congrats Mr Nawrocki for surviving despite the disgusting posters of P&N against you.

LMAO. Every so often, you find an executive you like. The rest of the time, you hate them. Thank god for mental illness.

Don't feed the troll. He's realistically just looking for negative attention. Ignoring it is the way to go ;)

That is a function of labor unions, minimum wage and regulation. You see all the companies moving overseas? They would stay if they could operate as cheap here as they do overseas.

So we just have to work for a dollar a day?

$365 a year if we kill ourselves 7 days a week?

And that is the paradox that somehow one can continously move jobs overseas for higher profit margins by keeping product or service prices the same here, yet they cry the blues of how bad sales are when the very customer base they constantly erode now can't afford to buy those goods and services directly or indirectly and they have to slash prices hoping that will help.

Another one "sick" of living here.

Then why are you here?

GTFO already you won't be missed.

Odd. I never said that. Hell - you quoted what I said! It clearly does not say that in the quote

Frankly there is no other country in which I would ever want to live.

Or in your world are we not allowed to live in a country where we have an issue with one aspect of it? Do you not want dissension in your world? Everyone must accept and like everything that happens to them no matter what?

Normally the first 26 weeks of UC are paid by the employer through a tax. An additional $25 per week that comes from one of the stimulus packages is included with the normal UC during this initial period. After that the entire UC amount is paid by another stimulus packags which means it's taxpayer's money.

the money is loaned to the states and they have to repay it out of unemployment insurance funds.

so it is paid for by employees which is a subset of taxpayers. It isn't accurate to say it's taxpayer's money.

That's what all insurance is.... People who happen to be taxpayers paying for other people who actually need the insurance payouts.

umm, government services are not "charity." I'd gladly give large chunks of money to the real charities of my choice if the govn't stopped raping me every year.

It's simply ridiculous that unemployed people are covered for so long now -- especially those who refuse to work more menial or labor-intensive jobs instead.

It's simply ridiculous that
1. The US has some of the lowest tax rates in the world, but the citizens whine and complain the loudest.
2. Countries with far fewer resources have taken the responsibility for all their citizens to be healthy and a chance at a decent life. The right wingers in the US say let em all starve...they aren't MY problem. Thank God you are not the majority any more.

Starve? Are you serious? Our poor are at risk of being OBESE, not starving.

Actually, you're right...but it's not because they're well fed. The cheapest food is the least healthy food. People aren't obese because they overeat, so much as they can only afford to eat the crap stuff.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Groceries....................

Yes, they are obese because they overeat the shit. But contrary to popular belief, there is cheaper than McDonalds good food in your local grocer. It may require a microwave, oven or stove however.

And there's the rub...it would also require a refridgerator or someway to preserve the leftovers. But even in groceries, Top Ramen is only 25 cents, and one pack can feed 2 kids for lunch. The cheapest groceries are less healthy as well...

The health comment aside I am (genuinely) curious about what you mean 'a chance at a decent life'. Are you referring to longer unemployment benefit times? If so what countries have a longer unemployment benefit time that is also a mandatory system?

Aside from that I would argue that America gives it's citizens ample opportunities to make a decent life - even more so if you are willing to work hard

If you can afford a place to rent you mean...and let's face it, how many landlords rent to the unemployed?
If you live in Texas for example, then the most you could receive monthly (if you made over $39,000) is $1638. Rents in Houston (you have to live near the city to get a job) will eat up half or more of this (if you can qualify, and that means your kids sleep in your bed or on the floor). With you leftover $800, you must pay utilities, clothes, kids doctors, food, school supplies, transportation to find work, etc...all this with $184/week. And that's an optimistic scenario!

1) Don't have kids

2) Share your apartment. I live in Boston/Cambridge and if you share with a roommate here, rent can be as low as $500 per person.

It's called being responsible.

I am a dual citizen of Australia and the US...
In Oz, they have both socialized medicine and unlimited unemployment benefit duration.
There is also rental assistance and we have a "work for the dole" scheme which requires that people on benefits for 6 months or longer work voluntarily for a community organization to increase their skills and job prospects, though they can attend school instead if they wish.

We have one of the most successful economies in the world (we didn't really get hit by either one of the last 2 recessions), and even though we pay FAR more taxes than Americans, we complain about it MUCH less.

Don't have kids? That's your idea of responsibility???
So those that do have them should just shoot them and bury them out back, eh?
Can I ask, how old are you? Most of these people are middle class and in their 30s and 40s. They got hit by a recession that nobody expected and that they couldn't possibly be expected to have foretold...
If you are in your 20s, then imagine that it's your parents that are now homeless...are you going to let them move in with you?

Yes, these 30 and 40 year olds were taught to spend every cent they made, make babies, and max out their credit cards while they're at it. Their decisions unfortunately affect all of us, because we are a society. Responsible people end up subsidizing their irresponsible asses by paying for a bigger share of child support (like public schools, food stamps etc) and they are as much of the problem( getting mortgages on houses they should never have even considered) as the Goldman motherfucking ballsack teabaggers.

I'm 23, I myself make over median US household income, yet my monthly rent is $550 and I drive a Camry. Could I afford an M3, a studio in the Back Bay, and Zegna in my closet? Sure can. Then I'd be fucked (after 99 weeks:rolleyes:) if I ever lose my job.

And you have the advantage that these people showed you that all that spending was wrong by the very young age of 23. They had no role model, and everyone told them otherwise...you were grown off their backs and now spit on their graves.

One last important thing to keep in mind, if your parents had had your philosophy, you wouldn't be here and they would be financially better off.

So true.

Republicans bit the hand that fed them and wonder why the middle class won't feed them anymore.

No, my parents actually own 2 houses, have almost no mortages, they save everything and combined have less expenses than even I do (clothes, food etc). Aside from a vacation a year (which they can afford).

Am I going to be inheriting a boatload from them? Probably (only child). By that time I'll probably be putting all that towards college and a new house for *my* kids.

What people shouldn't do is common sense. If you're paying your mortgage paycheck to paycheck, that's a blatant sign of something being wrong right there. Eating out at fancy restaurants all the time without a penny in the savings account? Another sign... etc etc

I admit I do have the benefit of good education (I grew up with Harvard and MIT in my backyard afterall...), but these middle class people should have been smarter.

You just admitted you are silver spooner which negates every single post you make as 110% bullshit.
