Curious. I read of the loss of a transmission line in the Mt Storm vicinity. Now I am wondering if that loss was a hardware failure - not just a line trip out.

Did not realize you got that much snow. Thought it was mostly ESE of you.

First Energy is buying electric companies in your region. Within five years, a First Energy company tends to have less reliable service. Don't know if that applies to you.

they did acquire pennelec and west penn, but those are both north and east of us. About the only thing left to buy up is duquesne light.

We got allegheny power... probably their largest competitor...powering everything from pittsburgh to south virginia, west virginia, maryland, and everything in between. So I dont see a selloff any time soon.

First Energy just submitted a bid to buy Allegheny Power. First Energy is using money games to merge many electric companies together. Then companies that once had few problems start having reliablity problems. First Energy created the massive North East blackout that took out everyone from Ohio, up to Michigan, through Ontario to New York City and Long Island. Be concerned when business school graduates start operating your electric company. Innovation and reliability only appear as increased costs on spread sheets.
